In 2009 Scott and Trudi Bird embarked on the journey of recording Scott’s first solo record and established the Riversong Music label to release the album in 2010. Riversong was written, performed, and recorded by Scott at Damien Gerard Studios in Sydney and co-produced by Scott, Trudi and Russell Pilling.
In 2011 Scott started writing songs for a new album. He initially worked the songs up with two of his students and over the following three years the band project, Men From Earth was developed, rehearsed and prepared. In 2014 we signed Men From Earth to the label and produced the last record album to be made at the legendary Alberts Studio 1 in Sydney. In 2015 we released the Men From Earth 'Wildwood Echoes' album and co-ordinated their national tour in conjunction with Alberts, the Harbour Agency, Thrillhill Music and MGM Distribution. During this time Scott began co-writing songs with artist Aaron Magee.
In November 2016 we re-released the Pale Riders back catalogue for digital sales which are available directly through our online store and on streaming platforms. During this period we also started working with the artist Melissa Black.
In 2017 we became actively involved in the campaign to protect takyana / Tarkine and joined the Bob Brown Foundation's Tarkine in Motion environmental art project. We produced a short film, takayna which was shown on the big screen alongside the Tarkine in Motion documentary at Avoca Beach Picture Theatre in NSW on June 8, 2017.
In 2018 we signed Melissa Black to our label. We produced and recorded her 5 track EP 'The Eden Project' and directed and produced a short film Merging with takayna. Two music videos for Eden and Fallen Angel and two lyric videos for Rainbow and Of Mountains and Sea were also produced. Melissa has become an important contributor to our environmental art which supports the campaign to protect takayna and our wild places.
In 2019 two previously unreleased recordings of Pale Riders, The Rooster Companion album and The End EP were remastered and released. We also recorded and produced the debut EP for Nicholas James and a new EP for Shane Shepherd.
In 2020 the balance of Pale Riders unreleased back catalogue including the EP's Dark Hollow and Country Way and the singles Mountain Creek, Black Bob’s Crossing and Autumn Valley were mastered and released.
We also released a remix and A cappella version of Men From Earth's Rest in Peace and a music video for the song featuring Gadigal land (Sydney) and takayna (Tarkine) which was directed by Wendy McDougall and edited by Trudi Bird. A lyric video for the a cappella version was released at the same time, featuring film of Frankland River Forests directed and edited by Trudi.
Scott Bird started working on songs with country artist Duncan Toombs and co-produced his debut album ‘Steel on Steel' with Duncan and Rod McCormack. We completed recording ‘The Blacksmith Sun’ album which Scott co-wrote with Aaron Magee and recorded and produced with Andrew Beck.
In 2021 Scott continued to work on Duncan's album and we started work on developing the branding and marketing for ‘The Blacksmith Sun’.
In 2022 we moved our operations to lutruwita (Tasmania) and mastered The Blacksmith Sun album for digital and vinyl.
Duncan Toombs album, Steel on Steel, was released in January 2023 through Compass Bros and debuted at #1 on the ARIA Country Music charts. In May 2023 we signed Aaron Magee (TBS) to the Riversong Music label and are currently producing several films to support The Blacksmith Sun album being released on September 1, 2023.
